Pink Peekaboo Pleats

I'm still following Project Toddler Runway with Shwin and Shwin, and I'm still loving it. I'm behind as usual, but still plugging along. I'm still not sure if I'll do every challenge, but I'd like to try. The challenge a couple of weeks ago was to make an outfit based on an accessory. Here's the outfit I came up with:

I was inspired by these shoes below from Crazy 8. They're ridiculous, I know, but a daughter of mine ought to have a pair of ridiculous shoes. I love them.

The bows on the shoes translated into the bows on the skirt, and the zebra strips translated into the pink peekaboo pleats.

I wish I could show it to you on an actual child, but it's a little big for Teagan. I suppose that's good though, that way at the end I don't end up with a bunch of outfits that she grows out of all at once.

The best part? You guessed it. Free fifty free. All the fabric is from my stash. The swiss dot look-alike was left over from this peasant shirt. The pink was from this costume. The grey was a gift from a friend.

I'd love to make a pink bow headband to go with it. Maybe by the time this fits, Teagan will actually keep one in her hair. Or not.

I love, love, LOVE that skirt! It is so, sweet - it makes me wish that I would get around to trying to sew clothing some day!

Adorable! I love the pink peeking through the pleats! It will look super cute with a pink bow or headband.
That is adorable! I've tried making a pleated skirt once and... well... let's just say it was a disaster. Very impressed!
